The Black Hills Home Builders Association sponsors two (2) $1000.00 continuing education scholarships annually. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize the student's academic excellence, as well as the Black Hills Home Builders Association's member affiliated with the student who is applying, and their active participation in the association. Preference will be given to a child or grandchild of an owner or employee of an association member or a child or grandchild of a BHHBA staff member. The student's area of interest may be in any field. However, preference will be given to applicants with goals of employment related to the Home Building Industry. All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements as listed below.
Scholarships will be limited to one per year per award winner. The recipient must be enrolling to attend college in the Fall of 2021. The eligible individuals will be judged on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, school and non-school activities and their answers to the essay questions on the application form. The judging will be done impartially without basis of religion, race, gender or age and all scholarship applications are confidential. Deadline for applications is April 9th, 2021, by 5PM. Award winners will be notified by April 28th, 2021. Scholarship monies will be made payable to the scholarship recipient and their registered school. Scholarships will be awarded at the May 18th, 2021, Membership Meeting to be held at the BHHBA office.

Morgan Fullerton, Kaylee Mehlhaff, and Tyler Kleinsasser were all awarded a $500 scholarship.
The Construction Industry Center is now accepting applications
This year, again, the program is open to include all eligible students, regardless of their field of study. Up to eleven (11) awards five (5) industry related and five (5) outside industry of $500.00 each may be given to individuals who meet ALL eligibility requirements as listed on the application. Additionally, one (1) individual (from all candidates) who is deemed as submitting the best essay (see application for details) will receive an additional $500.00 for a total of $1,000.00 scholarship. The deadline for receipt of applications is March 31st, 2021. A committee will review the scholarship applications and select the recipients. Winners will be notified by May 1 and scholarships will be redeemable after August 1 by providing C.I.C. with school registration confirmation.
