MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

Chair: Spencer Gossel

Recruitment: Responsible for the recruitment of new members, including membership drives and programs to gain new members.

Retention: Plans and conducts new member orientations; including the development of appropriate recognition programs to welcome new members and retain existing members.

Development: Establishes goals, plans and conducts programs for membership development; conducts incentive and recognition programs.

ASSOCIATES COMMITTEE

Chair: Spencer Gossel

Socials: Plans and organizes the BHHBA Monthly membership meetings and works with the education committee to secure speakers and plan informative programs for the monthly meetings when appropriate. Produces the annually BHHBA Christmas Party & works in conjunction with the membership committee to incorporate the Spike Awards ceremony.

SCHOLARSHIP & EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Chair, 

Awards two scholarships annually, with preference given to a child, grandchild or relative of a member company in good standing and its employees, or an employee of BHHBA or their child, grandchild or relative. Plans and organizes educational and continuing education credits to BHBA members in an effort to support the construction industry and the association.

HOME SHOW COMMITTEE

Chair, Shane Regelin, Heartland Pella

This committee plans, develops, organizes, oversees, produces and promotes all aspects of the association’s annual Black Hills Home Builders Association Home Show.​

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

Chair, Brian Johnson, Knecht Home Center

Stays abreast of local, state and national legislative issues; develops goals for such, communicates issues of importance to BHHBA members and elected and appointed officials. 

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

Chair, 

Leads the development and sustainability of the construction industry workforce in Western South Dakota and works to improve the opportunities to hire quality talent for our membership group.

PARADE OF HOMES COMMITTEE

Chair, Jeff Weidenbach, Weidenbach Brothers Construction (Co-Chair, Ross Jones, Jones Construction)

Plans, organizes, produces and promotes all aspects of the association’s annual spring and fall Parade of Homes events, including builder participation, and community awareness.

GOLF COMMITTEE

Chair, Erin Wood, Wood Builders

Plans, organizes, produces and promotes the annual Black Hills Home Builders Association golf tournament in the Fall.

HOME BUILDERS CARE COMMITTEE

Chair, 

Plans and organizes requests from the community for improvement projects of income eligible people in the community.

PUB CRAWL COMMITTEE

Chair, Darin Howie, Howie Construction (Co-Chair, Teri McNally, Black Hills Community Bank)
 

Plans and organizes an annual fundraiser to assist individuals and families in need of assistance from tragedy in their lives.

BUILD-PAC (Political Action Committee)

Chair, Ross Jones, Jones Constuction (Co-Chair, Amber Irving, State Farm - Gregg Fullerton Agency)
 

• Responsible for coordination and execution of fund-raising events for the local BHHBA Build-PAC (Political Action Committee) fund; also keeps the membership informed of Build-PAC activities and disbursements of funds to political candidates and/or issues on the state, local and national level.

AMERICA'S RIDE FOR HOUSING (A Task Force of the BHHBA Build-PAC): An annual PAC event held to assist Veterans in need of housing assistance
