The Boots and Bikes for Heroes Ride was a huge success, with 110 riders. The weather was beautiful in the morning for the registration at Black Hills Harley Davidson and for the ride, which ended downtown on 7th and Main for the live/silent auction, live music, and amazing speakers. We are still waiting on a final tally, however the live auction itself was amazing with the top bidder paying over $5,000 for the globe firepit made of handcrafted cut steel, which was donated by Darin Howie of Howie Construction The proceeds from the ride will be given to the Sacred Moutain Retreat Center to help veterans who are in need of therapy. President of the Sacred Mountain Retreat Center, Jerrid Geving said, “ It‘s just a neat and interesting place and our slogan is 'where the hills heal the heroes' and I feel there‘s a lot of truth in that.“ Thank you to all of the sponsors and those who donated for the auction, and to our members who helped with this event! Together we are making a difference in the community, by supporting our local veterans, and troops.
