ASSOCIATE MEMBERS COMMITTEE
Develops programs, events, and services to support the goals and needs of the associate members of the association.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops educational programs of interest to the associate members of the association.
- Develops and coordinates associate member recognition programs, such as "Associate Member Appreciation Month" activities.
- Organizes networking between members, such as table top nights at general membership meetings, casino nights, card swaps, mini-trade shows, etc.
- Promotes "Do Business with a Member" principle among builders and associates by implementing incentive programs (e.g.; discount coupon books, recognition of builders who use the most associate member services, etc.).
- Secures sponsors for targeted association events and assists in coordination and promotion of social functions, such as golf outings, fishing tournaments, barbeques, etc.
- Participates in new member orientations.
- Supports the legislative and political action programs of the association.
- Represents associate members’ needs to the association leadership.
- Assists in the coordination and promotion of major association events, such as the Parade of Homes and Home Show.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board of Directors is the policy-making body of the association and is responsible for the business affairs of the Corporation.

Duties, Responsibilities and Authorities:
- Approves operating and capital budgets.
- Represents the membership of the association.
- Understands issues facing the organization.
- Ensures proper use of assets.

EDUCATION & SHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Oversees and coordinates all matters relating to the education activities offered by the association.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifies the educational needs of the association’s membership.
- Seeks and recommends opportunities for the association to promote education activities.
- Conducts surveys of the membership to determine needs as they relate to education and training.
- Educates the leadership and the membership on the importance of continuing education.
- Remains abreast of industry issues and trends in order to provide relevant training.
- Coordinates education activities to ensure member needs are met.
- Selects, promotes and coordinates educational programming for the general membership of the association within the established budget.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Oversees and coordinates the government affairs activities and programs of the association in order to execute the public policy goals and objectives of the association.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recommends association policy on legislative, regulatory, and legal issues to the Board of Directors.
- Monitors and tracks government activities and issues that may have an impact on the industry. Conducts research where necessary.
- Develops personal relationships with public (municipal, county, regional, state and national) officials.
- Develops and coordinates local legislative and regulatory goals and strategies. Develops a system to prioritize issues according to their importance, ability
to succeed and impact on association resources.
- Prepares regular communications regarding actions by local government for distribution to members.
- Develops and implements a system to alert members regarding pending government issues of interest to industry.
- Oversees a political action committee to raise funds to assist candidates for local office.
- Develops solutions to industry problems in cooperation with elected and appointed officials.
- Develops a political education program designed to urge members to participate in the electoral process.
- Develops programs for association meetings involving government affairs issues, including participation by leading appointed and elected officials.
- Identifies members to testify before boards, commissions and committees regarding industry issues. Also identifies members interested in serving as
an appointed or elected public official.
- Acts as the liaison with state and national government affairs committees and garners support among local members for state and national initiatives.

HOME SHOW COMMITTEE
Develops, produces, and oversees all aspects of the association’s annual home show as a source of non-dues revenue for the association.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working in conjunction with staff, produces an annual home show as a non-dues revenue project for the association.
- Develops and updates annually a set of rules and regulations governing the event.
- Develops a budget to ensure the program meets anticipated revenues.
- Promotes the home show and sale of exhibit space through brochures, advertising, and publicity.
- Arranges special entertainment and attractions.
- Encourages full member participation at event.
- Supervises exposition hall relations, exhibit space sales and exhibits.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Identifies and recruits new members of the association and promotes involvement in all association programs and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working in conjunction with staff, plans, and conducts programs for membership development within established budget.
- Establishes goals, both immediate and long-range, for membership development.
- Provides for appropriate recognition of new members and their sponsors.
- Reviews and selects membership materials available from NAHB and other sources. Acts as a liaison to the NAHB Membership Committee.
- Oversees the awarding of Spike Club credits.
- Coordinates Spike Appreciation Month activities and other Spike recognition programs.
- Coordinates membership promotions with NAHB and state contests and drives.
- Recommends and assists in the production of local membership materials and brochures.
- Reports on progress to the Board of Directors and membership.

PARADE OF HOMES COMMITTEE
Develops, produces and oversees all aspects of the association’s Parade of Homes as a source of non-dues revenue for the
association.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and updates annually a set of rules and regulations governing the event.
- Oversees the development of the Parade of Homes guide.
- Develops a budget in cooperation with the Treasurer and Finance Committee.
- Works with the Public Relations Committee regarding promotion of the Parade of Homes.
- Coordinates all logistics for the Parade, including building registration, volunteer participation and public participation.
